The JIS Nature Club is a weekly club that offers our learners the opportunity to get to know as much as possible about the animals, plants and habitats of our beautiful and unique island of Borneo. We often have visits from NGO's such as 1Stopborneo who organise engaging workshops regarding pangolins, slow lorises and other endemic species.
We also collaborate very closely with the KK Wetlands. The activities here vary from learning about the different ecosystems that surround KK, birdwatching, water pollution, making recycled paper, to planting mangrove trees.
During our outings to the KK wetlands, we get to learn many different things at once, whilst using all of our senses. Afterall, it is important for our learners to start cherishing our wondrous planet starting from a young age. And what better way, then through gaining real outdoor experiences!
